This article will talk about the benefits of dry brushing. Take a look at your largest organ — your skin. The quality of your skin will give you an idea of the quality of your organ tissues. When you put something unnatural into your body, imagine it going straight into your tissues and organs. How can your skin and eyes glow if your tissue quality is laden with junk?

When you put only natural, fresh foods into your body, your tissue quality will reflect that and you will glow with the radiance nature intended. When your skin is getting oxygenated from within due to excellent blood flow and unobstructed pathways, the signs of aging and cellulite can be reduced dramatically without any expensive creams or plastic surgery.

Dry brushing is one of the greatest detoxification tools after colonics. Dry brushing is done with a special natural-bristle body brush that you can find in any health food store. The brush costs only about $7 and is one of the cheapest, most effective beauty and health treatments you can enjoy.

When you dry brush your body correctly:

  • Your lymphatic system is stimulated to push out wastes.
  • The dead skin is removed, making way for your skin to breathe fresh oxygen into the tissues for greater oxygenation throughout.
  • Lactic acid and other lymph waste is brushed away.
  • Cellulite is targeted and diminished.
  • You are left feeling totally energized.

How to Dry Brush Your Body

Stand in your bathtub, shower, or anywhere you are comfortable, completely dry and nude. Take the dry brush off the long wooden handle. Since you should always brush the body in upward strokes toward the heart, with the exception of the torso, begin brushing the tops of your feet in firm strokes toward the ankles. Then make ?rm strokes up the calves, toward the knees (make two strokes over each spot).

Brush upward along the backs of the knees, the groin, and the armpits (these are the major lymphatic drainage regions, so pay extra attention to them). Next, brush the fronts of the thighs from the knees to the groin and hip sockets and the backs of the thighs in firm upward strokes.

If you are prone to cellulite or “saddle bags,” spend a moment brushing those areas in a circular motion. Next, brush the torso in downward strokes; then brush the palms of the hands well from the fingertips to the wrists — followed by long brush strokes from the wrists to the armpits and shoulders. Be sure to brush equally on both sides of the body.

Finally, place the brush back on the wooden stick and brush as much of your back as you are able to reach. This whole process should only take about three to five minutes. A new brush can feel harsh the first couple of times but will quickly soften, so brush more gently at the beginning if you need to. This practice will leave your physical and energy bodies completely refreshed and invigorated!
